A Natural Disaster
I am now a natural.
Bleeding is like breathing,
lying is like dying;
inevitable.
I am now a natural
at all things regrettable.
I invite the pain.
I willingly turn away from sane.
This bitter end
is my long lost friend.
When he leaves,
I’ll leave too.
I am now a natural
at everything
I was taught not to do.
These plastic chains
do nothing to restrain
these concrete demons
in my fragile frame
from clawing their way out.
Causing me to scream
and shout
Causing me to thrash
and lash out,
rehash the last twelve months.
I hide it well;
you’d never guess…
I am now a natural
at all unnatural things
a person may possess.
