Wildflower Summers

July 2, 2011
By Anonymous

Summer came as summer sun,
against the water I see my shadow,
watch it throw a glance back at me.
Summer came as summer rain,
feel it cold against my cheek,
as we dance to the soft beat.
Summer came as summer wind,
blowing in my open window,
quietly sending me to sleeper's hollow.
Summer came as summer friendship,
climbing the surrounding tall trees,
the places beyond that we can see,
Summer came as summer love.
picking wildflowers from the field,
promise you will never leave,
Summer came as summer went.
we hoped that it would never end,
yet that seems so long ago.
