John Maynard Keynes: "In the long run, we're all dead."

The Real Me floats
above,
sentinel, sentient.
It is unchained, but remains
tethered
to that earthly body
which makes up The Reality,
rooted in dirt
and darkness.
Real Me is free within me,
yet I cannot but wish
to discard –
kick aside viciously –
the Things that keep me
chained
and broken.

This floated into my head when I was meditating. I guess didn't 'mean' for it to have any specific meaning, the words just flowed, but I think it ended up being about how everyone has a self they portray to the world, which constrains what they really feel like inside; and how sometimes, you just want to kick aside social constraints, stereotypes you adhere to, and just be the 'real you'.
