Your past is your past and you can\'t change it, but you can use it to change your future.

I think to that last day
The last day that I held you and told you I love you
That moment is what I remember you by
Your soft fragile hands that told the story to well
The same hands that embraced me that day
Told the story of a woman who had fought to much, worked too hard, and

love unconditionally
The cheek of which I place a kissed
Expressed the pain and suffering
Of a woman who had been let down to many times
Behind the sparkle in your eye
Was the image of a woman who struggled?
The voice of which I wish I could hear again
Told stories of knowledge through experience and mistakes
The tear in my eye tells the story of a woman
Who cannot be replaced?
Who held me that day?
When good bye turned out to last eternity

I wrote this poem right after my grandmother had passed away. She lived five hours away and I had just seen her the weekend before, if only I would have known what was going to happen.
