"There is a time for silence. There is a time waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel, and you so clearly know what you need to say, you'll know it." -Taylor Swift

How was I so stupid to let you
Slip right on by?
The entire year, I was completely clueless.
So out of touch with pure reality
That I didn't even notice-
I had you wrapped around my finger.
With this crazy act I put on,
I never stopped to think that what you felt
Was real.
Every passing smile,
All of those flirty remarks;
Led to sparks flying through the air.
And each day, I stood in front of the mirror-
Getting primped for another day of school,
Putting on that shiny smile;
Never knowing that someone
-an outsider-
Was looking in.
Someone who marked my every move;
Someone who listened to my ever word.
Someone who looked straight into my eyes
And knew there was something beyond
That flirty smile and bouncy curls.
A connection so perfect
That it could've only been created by fate, itself.
It's crazy to think;
That guy standing in front of me-
The one with the sweet smile but bold eyes-
Actually loved THIS crazy girl,
And would end up meaning the world to me.

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by a guy who is my best friend. I over-looked him the entire school year until I finally realized that he liked me, and I actually liked him back. Now he's not only my best friend, but also my boyfriend. :)
