I am Dance
Pirouettes. Exquisite, yet so difficult.
So precise, sharp, and beautiful.
Prep for the turn. Pushing off as
if your supporting leg was a pole on a
merry-go-round, stretching so far up,
but still so sturdy and grounded.
The tips of your silky smooth hair whip through
the delicate layer of air, so thin. That last turn. Solid.
Your feet are planted on the ground looking as they were
nailed to the floor. Dance. Stunning. Thrilling. So
exhausting. Worth every bruise, drop of blood or sweat.
This is my life.
This is my passion.
I am dance.
