Do You Know?
Do you know?
 You can change the world.
Not everyone’s world, and not forever
but each day you can change mine
 and prior to you,
 life was a shallow river
 flowing in one direction and
 predetermined with every sunrise
 but now
 I’m an ocean empire
blessed to have a blazing sun
to reach arms across the horizon and
 lift away the dark
 You can change the world
and it only will cost you minutes together
but it pays well with memories that
 play with your hair,
 smile and trace your hand
 before dancing lightly away
 into the august wind
 You can change the world
Because happiness now dwells on the back of my lids
where there used to be blackness
because I now realize if I were to
 shut my eyes,
 stand unstable on the
 edge of the world, and
 jump

I’d land in your expecting arms
