My love for you is short tempered
You tempt me behind shimmering glass
Swaying ‘round in small movements
I claw for you
Grasp your slick neck tightly
And greedily part my lips
For the smooth flow of poison
Tonight I will sink deftly
Into a quick and easy slumber
Bound to a murky ship
Throwing my movements
To and fro
From the fire you so
Delicately
Let loose in my throat
Sending molten glass
To coat my heart
And burn my stomach
I submit to your cunning
And wish fervently
That my eyes weren’t swimming
And that my tongue was tighter
And yet we continue our dance
I dive for you in agony
And you bring me this agony
Doubled
Please stop masquerading as my medicine
When really all you are
Is sharpened snake jaws
In a bottle
