Shadows
A shadow is pressed gently;
 Against the solid pavement.
 Against the daunting world.
 Pressed up, against you.

 The cement just darkens.
 In the place where,
 The shadow was planted.

 The world is oblivious
 To all it’s people.
 And all of their shadows.

 Then my shadow was
 Pressed up against yours.
 I wonder now.
 Did you even notice?

 Does this darkened spot.
 On the cold honest ground.
 In this big old world.
 Mean anything to you?

Does it hold a piece of your heart?
 Did it capture a moment
 Of your precious time?
Or a single one of your many thoughts?

 Are you my world?
 Or do we just share,
 Some common ground?
