Nautical Fears
She sails her boat northward
Across the pier she goes
Content with what she has discovered
She’ll never let go
The seas are high
And the sun is bright
But day turns to dusk
And dusk turns to night
In the shadows of the dark
The heavens break open
And release a powerful storm
What an unfortunate token
She gives up hope
And starts to wonder
Should I just stop?
But I jump in when she starts to ponder
“I’ll let you sink your ship
In the deep oceans of your fear
But never forget that somewhere underneath
There’s a mermaid waiting to appear
And she will take you away from here.”
