when water comes to life,
other lights fade.
sunlight dims and our eyes turn up.

when water comes to life,
our mouths open wide.
rumbling, waves build and roar.
when water comes to life,
running for cover, legs eat up ground.
decks and vacations spots collapse.
when water comes to life,
our sorrow spills from our eyes.
life leaves and only water continues to live.
