The hardest realization I’ve ever had to stand
Is you don’t know what you have until it slips from your hand
It can be as much as a person or as little as a moment
But suddenly it’s gone before you even know it
There are so many things we take for granted every day
But it’s not until we lose something that we beg for it to stay
With these words, I’m sure you have something in mind
A special person, sacred object, or a precious moment in time
Despite the significance, life keeps moving on
But memories forever survive, remember to hold on
