Snow falls softly, painting
the town white as people
paint the town red. Shopping bags
rustle as people hustle
to finish on time. Lights dance
red, green, blue, red and white, decorating the night. Carolers sing. The smell of peppermint
wafts over us. Hot chocolate
warms us. Freshly baked sugar cookies clutter counters. Smiles
are seen everywhere. For once, hearts are light.
December is magical.
