What hides behind the eyes
It tells a story
The face may be still
But the eyes always change

When revenge licks your heart
It morphs into a cancer
Malignant and deadly all the same
Try to fight it
Resist all you want
It doesn’t go away

That’s the risk
The consequence you pay
Stealing away inside yourself
Living with delusions of being
Thinking on your own
Without the eyes of others

You yearn for the chance
Destroy the object of objection
Lash out, grasp the chance
But yield to the forethought
Will you be destroying that which vexes you

Or yourself?
