Haste sans Humility
Dreamers and creators are running as fast as they can.
It seems nothing can stand against.
Liars and cheaters are slowing up in the race again.
The linoleum floor is slicker than glass as they take a turn 'round a corner.
The wall in the way, they try to break down, but the bricks keep re-stacking in order.
They hack away
trying to make a deceit-shaped hole;
over the railing, down the stairs
in an attempt to find some light at the end- that's their goal.
Breathe in, sweat stingin'
the eyes that search for the finish line.
Knees bucklin', hearts beatin'
with a will to make the awe of the world shine on them.
The dreamer and painter snap the ribbon with the urgency and swiftness they hurl at the finish.
The cheaters and con-artists run with aimless movements- at first hasty, they pursued their opponents expedience, with a point to prove; now they continue in stagnant motion.
Does this prove they were once dreamers, too?
