Demons in my Bedroom
Noises in the night.
 Shadows on the stairs and
 in the doorway.
Voices that whisper in my ear.

I huddle under my covers in a ball
while invisible hands claw at me.
 Tears gather on my pillow
 as I scream for help.

 My parents don't come anymore.
 They do not believe.
 But I believe,
 I hear,
 I feel,
 I see.

The demons try to get to me.
 People call them ghosts,
but there's no way in hell
that these things were ever human.

 I can't breathe.
 My heart beats so fast,
I think it's going to explode.
There is a great weight on my chest.
Like something is pushing down on me.

The demon is going to kill me.
It whispers evil words to me
 through the covers.

 And then I feel it;
 the burning at my neck.
I feel it ripping into my neck and shoulders.
 My screams change.
They turn into shrieks of pain.
Now I hear my parents coming.

The door flies open and the light comes on.
 My mom screams.
I finally open my eyes and see why.
My neck and shoulders are covered in blood.
 A black, four legged shadow
 hovers over me.

I stare into the eyes of the demon.
They burn redder then my blood.
 I look to my parents.
 Now they believe.
I don't have time for another tear.
The demon slashes at my face one last time.
And then God takes me away.
