It Sets
A shadow is cast beyond the world and below the hills
The little boy watches out his window, and imagines the thrills
The colors winding in and out
The only time of day he doesn't doubt.
Everything's clear like the painted sky above.
Th purples, the yellows, the reds, the flying dove.
The dove represents peace and serenity
A feeling the he could take flight, a feeling of glee.
It is too far to touch but close enough to breathe.
One might have though it was just a tease.
Because close to the end it started to go
As the boy's eye sparkled and mouthed "Whoa."
He walked away from the colors that swarm
It was more beautiful than what comes after a storm
Then it left and went on its own way.
He just hoped that it would stay.
The little boy still wishes they could have met
Become best friends,
Him and the sunset.
