Learning
I've learned to accept the fact that I have let you go,
I've learned to accept the fact that you won't come back,
I've learned to want you, but not to dream or make-believe,
I've learned to care for you, without expecting the same in return,
I've learned to miss you, without needing to cry about it,
I've learned to remember both the good and the bad, with no regret,
I've learned to wish you the best, no more anger or jealousy or bitter fights,
I've learned to laugh at your jokes again, no point pretending you're not funny,
I've learned to feel again, but without being your burden,
I've learned to smile at your smile, even though it's not for me any more,
I've learned to open my heart, in case I find someone like you one day,
I've learned to let you fly, without having to cling to your hand,
I guess you could say I've learned how to love you
Just as you learned how to live without me
