Playing for Both Sides
I’m paying for both sides
My life is a chess board now
And all the pieces are mine
But the kings stand against each other
on their own sides.
But I choose who wins and who looses
For all the pieces are mine
I can trap the white king around his own warriors
Then send the black queen to take him.
I can move the black pieces out of the way
And make eight more white queens
I cause whatever I want
It seems for I know the minds
Of both kings
Perhaps I should
Just trigger a draw
Wouldn’t that be easier?
But I know that
They settle for nothing
And they’ll start another war.
I need to choose a side soon
Before I make a mess
Or perhaps
I should step out
And let them fight for themselves.
