The mirror stood its ground, glaring at her
She felt as if she was at a carnival
wandering through a hellish maze of mirrors
every one of them mocking her
pointing out every flaw
magnifying them
Imperfection too much to handle
She stepped onto her worst nightmare and best friend
85 pounds
Too large
Too fat
Not thin
Tears of disappointment and anger
blurred her vision and continued down her cheeks
leaving salty trails in their wake
She ran to the bathroom,
the ceramic tiles coolness seeped into her bones
She headed towards the toilet
In desperation, she surrendered to her enemy
Anything to be thinner...
