Are you scared, little sister?

trying to be strong
never wanting to lose,
are you afraid of losing?

Watching you be sick,
passing out again and again,
listening to your sounds of pain,
does it scare you?
it scares me.

remembering when we ran down the dirt road,
hanging out at the bridge
because you didnt want to go home.

laughing, stealing my lunch that I paid for,
because you spent your lunch money on Monday.

singing to the karioke machine,
loud and off-key,
playing the piano beautifully.

passed out on the kitchen floor
a towel around your face,
can't sit up because of the pain
while the ambulence is on it's way.

did it scare you?
because it scared me.

I'm very sorry about your sister. One of my little sisters has asthma too. I wish you both well. Your poem is wonderful.
