In Love
Her voice glowing
And singing
That’s what I get for
Marrying, a brute of a man.
Who is ‘Tom’?
She asked innocently
Looked out with
A bright ecstatic smile
Her voice a wild tonic
In the rain.
Are you in love
With me?
Frightened but graceful,
With tense unhappy eyes.
Her throat, full of aching,
Grieving beauty,
Enchanting murmurs.
He hadn’t once ceased
Looking at Daisy.
She’d been alone with
Gatsby.
Then he kissed her.
She Blossomed for him
Like a flower.
