The Great Gasby Poem
“He’s a bootlegger,
Underground pipe-line to Canada,
He’s an Oggsford man,
One time he killed a man who had found out that he was nephew to Von Hinderburg,
And second cousin to the devil,
He was a German spy during the war,
I heard that from a man who knew all about him,
Grew up with him in Germany,
Well, they say he’s the nephew or a cousin of Kaiser Wilhelm’s,
That’s where all his money comes from,
It couldn’t be that, because he was in the American Army,
I’m scared of him,
I’ll bet he killed a man,
I’d hate to have him get anything on me.”
