Floating down the river
As we float down the river
 I hear the birds call.
 The sound of rushing water
 I hope we don’t fall.

I look over to my right
And I see a blue heron
 What a beautiful sight
In this land that is dry and baron.

I look over to my left
And I spot a sly raccoon
He’s eating our food, what a theft!
 I hope he leaves soon.

Sometimes I must stop and ponder
Of how this beauty came to be.
This land is a great wonder
It is almost like a dream.
