4 hearts beating in sorrow,
For they must say good-bye tomorrow
They are brave,
Giving up their own for the children's lifes to save
They live in fear, everyday
Worried, every night they pray.

3 hearts beating on the field,
God will be their only shield
Guns in their hands, love in their heart,
One by one their torn apart
When, one goes down, they all cry,
Wishing today wasn't one to die

2 hearts beating, wounded on the ground,
Filled with noise, yet without a sound
Clutching his arm, he slowly pleads
Todays not my day, I have not yet done my deeds
He croutches back, tries to hide the pain
Knowing that he has nothing left to gain.

1 heart beats, for this is his last night,
Victory, they've won the fight,
Finally, the war is rid,
He gets to see his one-year old kid,
3 friends he's lost, never made it throught the fall,
Lost, hopes and dreams, they lost it all

Only 1 heart beats, out of the thousand few,
Three more graves, added to the old, and new.
He is the one left to wither like a blood stained flower,
The witness to his friend's last hour.
They go in three and become zero,
And out he comes, sculpted like a true hero.
