I can wave the white flag
but we both know,
I’m far too late
and far too slow.
You’re already crushed candy
in my veins,
the constant singing
in my brain.
Holding me captive
in this dream,
Mutating my thoughts
until I believe.
Believe this love
will last forever,
Burning scars
bind us together.
Naive and weak,
under your spell,
Drinking all
the lies you sell.
Romeo, do you take thee,
To have and hold,
And set her free?
In your arms
I trust you,
Until your eyes turn
from brown to blue.
Those chocolate pools,
Free of sin,
Now piercing needles
in my skin.
The blood runs
Just like you,
Yellow coward,
Devil too!
Always alone,
A girl like me,
My fairytale
may never be.
A loveless life,
Empty kisses,
Drowning in
my sinking wishes.
Are the bruises
worth all this?
My Romeo...
Does he exist?

The author's comments:
This is half fictional and half based on my experiences. The first part is about how when you first fall in love with someone, the feelings are so amazing and strong that you believe it will last forever, but sometimes that isn't the case. The second part is about the idea of true love and soulmates and whether 'Romeo's' really do exist, and whether all the pain that comes with love is worth it.
