Staring at empty walls
Wondering what went wrong
Empty thoughts and empty hearts
A being of her imagination
His car smashed into another
Sending both into a fatal spin
He has another day
The other is laid to rest
A couple dancing in the park
He kisses her, and the world seems to stop
As he lies in the hospital bed
The scene plays all over again
All alone she waits
Praying that he will wake
Crying to herself
As his face grows pale
His heartbeat comes from an outlet
Like he’s plugged into life
She has to decide to live or die
Though he’s already dying
The constant beeping and sound of nurse’s feet
She is drowned in uncertainty
Keeping him alive is just torturing him
Killing him would torture her
Tears roll down her face
Tightness in her lungs
Thoughts and sights she can not handle
She chokes on the every breath she takes
All alone again
She sits and ponders on what she lost
All alone again
He sits and ponders on what he left
Slowly his passing tears her apart
With no one to love
Her love drips away
Dying of heartbreak
Shadows dancing in the moonlight
The imaginary friends of every grown-up kid
They dance to a waltz of bitter good-byes
As music plays in the background of this memory

I saw the whole thing in my head like a perfectly directed movie. I felt as if I was standing right there, watching the whole thing...!

i loved it. i don't know what it is... poetry seems so much stronger than just saying it normally. so much more emotion. great poem, keep it up!

I cried. I cried for a good long time after I read this.
