Vagabond

I’m alive,
and I’m a liar,
every word’s been killing me,
my heart is burning with desire.
I roam but do not see,
I live but do not feel,
my smile’s torn and hollow,
nothing here seems real.
Alive but barely living,
is not the right state of mind,
I’m just merely buying time,
when time is all but kind.
I need a change in scenery,
need something to be real,
so I’ll set out on my travels,
and maybe then I’ll begin to feel;
the peace that I’ve been missing
to settle my restless soul,
so I’ll set my feet to walking,
my heart will tell me where to go.
