You're a beast, and my best friend
The more I think of it the more I hate
But, you see, it's only because I love you.
Nobody else listens without complaint

You're aging and it scares me
we've been together so long
To lose you would crush me
Even now my heart is breaking

I'll miss you so much when you go
Your ears, your tail, your paws as well
The noises you make in all emotions
And to know the quiet will be relentless

Right now, I know you're tired
You have to sleep all the time
You're not young like you used to be
I know that your time is coming

Rest now, so i can have more time
To mourn your loss before you're gone
I'll smile when you leave for you'll know
You're a beast, and my best friend

I wrote this for my dog. She's getting older and I'm getting scared that one day she wont wake up.
