HALF EMPTY
I’ve spent all my time
 chasing sounds and hunting
 for better reasons.
 Never did I notice the
 world was slowly catching up
to put me back in place.
After a while it got hard
to walk to the sun and stars
when the rain wanted to ruin
 my day.

No one ever told me to stop.
I kept moving forward for something.
Now I’m here, and just as lost.
One day I’ll build a home to
rest the head I’ve filled with burden.
Wake to find the birds alive.
Life took from me all that it could.
I can’t ask for much more.
Although it would be wonderful to be
 left alone.

 For once, at least.
