Captured, Dragged dreams
of ebony "beasts"
lay in Darkness below
Captured Dragged Penned
Aching Muscles, stifling heat
heavy air, breath to breath
Souls sold racists
called them beasts
Iron shackle, shivers of pain
Eighteen days...twenty-three days
but still...
prayers, tears, family, freedom
He would live
