I awoke in the midst of the darkness
bathed in sweat and tears.
I tried to move, but my body remained still,
enveloped by fear.
Seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to hours.
Suddenly, a shadow shot out into my vision
and descended towards me.
It opened its jaws, revealing two rows of blades
that clamped onto my neck…
I awoke in the midst of the darkness
bathed in sweat and tears.
What happened? I thought, struggling to get up.
As my eyes adjusted, as my vision focused,
around me were massive tree trunks that
encircled me, trapping me in the darkness.
Just then, a howl cut through the silence,
and I looked up, just to be welcomed
by the familiar rows of blades that came down at me
and swallowed me whole…
