Shoot for the stars,
But don’t let your hopes get up too high.
So they say.
Hypocrites.
Dream big,
But you may never get that far.
So they say.
Be who you are,
But try to fit in with the crowd for once.
So they say.
Let your colors shine,
But don’t show me.
That’s not what we came here to see.
So they say.
Hypocrites.
You can make a big difference,
But you’re just another drop in the bucket.
So they say.
Curiosity killed the cat,
But satisfaction brought it back.
So they say.
We’re all in the same boat,
But those people are higher class,
Don’t talk to them.
So they say.
Love the skin you’re in,
But if you’re no super model
Sorry!
Then it’s unacceptable.
So they say.
Hypocrites.
There are no such things as
Ugly
Unwanted
Unloved
But that guy over there-
Blech!
Who could love such a thing.
So they say.
Hypocrites.
Love is love,
but when he loves him,
it's wrong.
So they say.
You are gorgeous,
But this could mask your flaws,
make you prettier.
You are perfect,
But nothing is perfect.
Imperfect.
So they say.
Hypocrites.
But who are they, anyway?
Who is to sit on a panel
And judge
And say?
Who are they?
Uh-hem.
Hypocrites.
So I say,
Take those negatives
And make them positives.
Then what would we get?
Shoot for the stars
Dream big
Be who you are
Let your colors shine
You can make a difference
Be curious
This boat is big enough for the lot of us
Love the skin you’re in
You are
Beautiful
You are
Wanted
You are
Loved
You are
Gorgeous
And glamorous
And perfect
And nobody can tell you different.
Take that,
Hypocrites.
