A Sunny Day
Promising are the days where sunlight begins to shine,
Trees look greener, birds chirp louder,
Children sing their childish songs.
A soft breeze whispers in my ear,
Reminding me to enjoy the moment.
The harsh sun gleams down upon my body,
Warming my soul.
A friend passes by leisurely and stays a while.
Time is timeless, nobody has a care,
Relaxed at last.
Gazing up at the sky,
Making bears and birds and clowns out of the clouds that pass by.
Mmm…at peace at last.
“AHHHHHHHHHHH!”
I jump from terror and jerk my head,
The image of my little brother’s horrendous face still haunts my brain.
To ruin a perfect day would give him too much satisfaction,
Ignore what can’t be controlled and enjoy the uncontrollable.
The sparking sun still shines,
I am still at peace.
