What Happens
What happens when you grow up?
When you no longer have that childish naïveté,
When the braces come and puberty hits.
You’re no longer that cute little girl,
You’re that beautiful young woman who caught the eye of that one guy.
How do you say no?
To the people you call friends
The ones who try and pressure you to make choices.
Do you say no?
And be left behind,
Do you love me?
That’s the question, isn’t it?
Do you do ask you were asked or do you maintain who you are?
Do you have regrets?
What happens when he is gone?
That first boyfriend who you gave everything for?
That boyfriend that got what he wanted from you and then moved onto your best friend.
Do you get mad,
Sad,
Do you cry,
Kick and scream.
What do you do, as the choices get harder?
