Trust Your Own Rope
Tell me something
Do you find it true?
That we must love all
But trust a few
Does it ever seem
That even the darkest of souls
Have a bright shimmering gleam?
What begins must one day end
This is only the start of your journey
So with your heart and soul you should defend
What you believe is true truly
Let go of that hand
The one that leads you
The one that feeds you
And needs you, to build that castle on the sand.
Stop following that blind guide and open your own eyes
Take this path instead and rid of their cold lies
At first it might be filled with pains and cries
But you have to stand firm and tie your roots down low
For a tree with no roots can’t stand no stormy weather
The rains a gonna fall
Wash upon them all.
