The Eve of You
This night, daunting and haunting, full of unwanted thoughts of you.
Reminiscing unwantedly of what we used to have.
The dawn will bring you to me again, in a whole new light.
I don’t know what will happen, I only know I’m not ready for you.
You bent me, you broke me, and you didn’t even know it.
We parted, I cried, you didn’t even realize.
You forgot me, I held on to every memory of you.
What will happen tomorrow, when I see you again?
Please don’t touch me, or smile at me, or try to bring up the past.
I hurt, I ache, you feel nothing, you don’t understand.
On this foreboding eve, I know not what comes tomorrow,
All I know is I still bleed, and you still don’t know.
