Just Once.
One minute is enough to lose it all,
One word and I am taking the fall,
One glance and the lies begin to rain,
I'm not strong enough to handle this pain.
Words are falling into silent cries,
People are crushing, breaking my ties,
I lay awake at night, hoping and waiting,
For a better more beautiful day to awaken.
So another door closes to a new life,
Best friends only increase the mental strife,
Insecurities overshadow the possibilities,
These days just can't seem to accept me.
I only desired the thing I wasn't allowed,
Because society deemed it too proud,
Acceptance has become a dream of the past,
Friendships were not meant to last.
I am kept from what keeps me smiling,
Only because of society's belief in defiling,
That which is good and that which is right,
I'm going deaf from the lies, and I'm losing my sight.
