Sailing the Lethe
in this cesspool
enclosed inside my skull
the paint is chipping
the water is finally darker
i am free
i am free at last!
flush out all memoirs
forget about tomorrow
cleanse my mind of
the innocent people i once knew
let the survivors resurface--
i didn't want them to drown
faithful indications
of how far i have come
but when
when will this madness end?
The dreaded story of how
the naïve became the corrupt
always escaping from the strong current
i wanted to sail the lethe
but i cannot take it any longer
when will these waves stop crashing?
So let it last forever.
let these memories bleed melancholy
let them remind me that the world
is not so innocent
