Tonight we have gathered to talk of nationalism and petty affairs of Dublin
And we've gathered with preplanned candor
And I watch my words as to not offend anyone and I reply in a neutral state
But we are thrown off balance as a gust of snow blows into the house
And a man reeks of booze
He must be shielded
The party goes on and it's I who must give a speech
But tonight I feel a volcano erupting under the soles of my shoes
Ignorance only makes it worse
And as I carve the goose, my atoms are thrown out of line with affection
And I cannot hold it in
And I want to leave and run the streets, naked with passion
But I will not, I will shield myself and wait for another time
