Favorite Quote:
keep calm and carry on

When the radiant sun’s
exuberant passion
smacks the reality of Earth,
all protection
is simply gone.
As the rush of night
overcomes the world,
soul by soul,
conquering the safety
of each spirit,
mystery creeps up on
the taunted minds,
allowing access
of the unthinkable.
Paranoia defeats the shield
of the mind,
exploring the depths
of fear,
cruelty and horror.
This ongoing torture
will cease to end,
until the marvelous sun
once again rises.
Until then,
the agonizing night
tears through the world,
it tears through the world.

The author's comments:
The book, Night, by Elie Wiesel inspired me to write this poem, for my English class. The book had so much power and emotion, I found it nearly impossible not to write about it! His gut-wrenching stories of the night leave readers feeling empty and eerie, therefore, I felt it was necessary to express those emotions.
