Happiness is as a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but which if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

I don’t know why I feel this way.
I don’t know how I can feel this bad.
I feel jealously.
Anguish for the beauty,
Knowledge,
Pride,
And Love,
Soaked up by this girl.
I lay forgotten.
Wishing I had had the conversation.
Frozen in my own hurt.
Dejection.
Why can’t I have it?
I must not deserve it.
But,
Nobody knows.
That pain, I feel.
She’ll replace me.
I’ll become another shadow,
A picture in a frame.
A memory,
Soon to be forgotten.
I’m not making this up.
I want what she has.
She’s liked more than I am.
I should just die,
Become dirt to rot.
These words are eating me.
The perfect boyfriend.
I lay cursed,
Single.
Alone.
Replaced.
I’ve become it.
Forever forgotten.
