Dad to Father
Sitting here reminiscing through all of my memories
Slowly a frown creeps upon my face
I think of you, and all the heartbreak you caused
I could never be your perfect girl
Sure seeing my daddy was once fun
But your true side was revealed the more I grew
My appearance seemed more of a disappointment
I could never please you
Only argument came from our conversations
A build up of distorted emotions
Why couldn’t you smile more?
I stopped trying
It was difficult to love you
Even in the same room, you were always distant
You were always my daddy
But now and forever you are my father
