We are all in the gutter looking up at the stars"-Oscar Wilde

Worlds collide, people crying on the inside.
Disturbed by the world outside;
Girls in school trying to be cool but not knowing,
Which path to choose Be yourself or somebody else?
Trying to show others who they think got their back what they want to be.
The popular and hated girl not knowing whether to lead a life hiding under a mask;
Or really break free showing others who they want to be.
Pain hidden inside from the crying out just to be . . . . . . . . . free.
The young man that wants to be a player and be a mack;
Saying he hit this and that.
Wondering if he stops his friends will think he’s whack.
Knows he’s a virgin, but doesn’t want it to show;
So he puts on an act.
Cursing at chicks, talking about his Oops let me remain chill.
He doesn’t understand that he should keep it real.
It’s all right to show how you feel.
Girls let him know they like him how he is so they don’t make him change.
Are they lying to him?
STOP! , Worlds collide, boy meets girl.
Both hiding under a mask, the world starts to stop in time.
They see the pain in each others eyes but. . . . . .
They can’t take off their masks,
They’ve been pulled in to deep to escape the lifestyle that’s not them.
That my friends, is life through my eyes

I wrote this in 8th grade when I began to realize people around me changing in order to fit a certain stereotype or group. It surprised me so I wrote about it to help me understand.
