Art Class
We met over canvas and paint brushes
The way you looked into me eyes
And saw the real me and not just what
Meets the eye
A simple crush is what it was
Well that’s what I told myself
Until that day we talked
I never shared more of myself with anyone
Then I did with you that day
I was a person who guarded my heart that was until I met you
I let you in, in a way I never let anyone in
Young and inexperienced is what I was
I didn’t know much of anything about the world
But you took the time to open my eyes
You showed me more than I could have ever imagined to see
The way I felt safe looking in your eyes
The way my stomach got butterflies when we hugged
I somehow knew that everything would be okay if you were with me
I didn’t know what this feeling was but what I did know was
It made my head spin and legs go weak
This was more than a simple crush
I was in love and hoped that you felt the same
