"I think I'll try defying gravity"

Hallelujah,
we'd all cheer.
Hallelujah! It's a new day, a new year.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, my dear.
Hallelujah, we'd sing for the world to hear.

Hallelujah,
we'd all force from our throats.
Hallelujah! We'd cry out the notes.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, we'd say in a choke.
Hallelujah, we'd whisper at the most.

A broken hallelujah,
we'd feel as we fall.
A broken hallelujah,
defeated us all.
"Hallelujah, Hallelujah!"
We pleaded, but no one answered our call.
A broken hallelujah,
descended us, to nothing but a crawl.

Hallelujah,
never again to leave our lips.
I broken hallelujah,
feels JUST like this.
Hallelujah,
the word could never miss.
Hallelujah, hallelujah!
We'd thrust out a fist.
Hallelujah,
a faith to be dismissed.
