Not Always There
The tides roll and crash
And I stand amongst them
Time blurs
Wind whips my hair around my face
Tiny little shells stick into my feet
As my body is swayed back and forth
The water runs like ribbons in between my fingers
I feel my lips chap and start to turn blue
My mind is as clear as the water
My mind is as open as the sea
I feel like a wave
No one knows I’m there
And then suddenly I come rolling in
Closer and closer to shore
Until I crash and break
And then I’m gone
My mind is like a small secluded pool on the shore
A completely different world
But still a part of a bigger being
Once tide rolls in
I’m gone
