Beautiful Illusion

Flowers bloom on your lips
But with no one to kiss they fade away
Glistening dreams hover in your eyes
But your tears wash them all away
And love notes to you get lost on the way
And your canvas will only be painted in grey

Like a sunrise hidden by rain you wait
For someone to stop and lower their umbrella
Paper hearts taped to your back
Go unnoticed
Love songs written for you
Go unheard

Harmonies float out of your mouth
Getting lost in the distance
And words written and rewritten
Mean nothing
Without someone to read them
The stronger the wind, the harder you fall
And you won’t even take my hand

Snowflakes land on your shoulders
And then melt away

This is really pretty, and I love it... great writing.

Check out my poems sometime?
