If only you could smell the dust,
The grit of centuries ongoing,
Hear the ceaseless echoing steps,
You’d know of our eternal shuffle,
Trapped on this perpetual stair.

If only you could hear our cries,
Desperate pleas for freedom.
But instead you ignore, as we go around again,
Over and over, same steps, same breaths.
Save us, save us from this infinite loop.

If only you could see this impossibility,
A geometric labyrinth; floors into walls, ceilings to doors,
Glance at our identical faces, voided souls,
Stare into this purgatorial nightmare.
Your illusion, our reality.
