A fail each time
I can’t let go
I can’t let go
and those are the verses that I play in my head
I try and try
And I fail and fail no matter how many time I attempt to forget
I keep going back to the eyes that caused me such ache
so many restless nights
and even a few tears were shed
I won’t let go
I won’t let go
Because deep inside I like the torture
of having you near and know I can’t have.
hear you smile
see you think
when you speak teases my mind into a state of submission
and ignore I cannot
I look away
and still see what I try to forget
I try to forget that face
those words
the acts of kindness
I must let go
I must let go
because slowly the feeling has killed me
killed the person I was once inside
so collected
turned so conflicted…
